MUSKOGEE — Consistency and a strong midweek surge propelled Jacob Foutz to a breakthrough victory at the 2026 Gamakatsu Bassmaster Elite on the Arkansas River.
Foutz secured his first Elite Series blue trophy with a four-day total of 72 pounds, 4 ounces, finishing more than six pounds ahead of the field. He sealed the win with a 14-pound, 10-ounce bag on Championship Sunday, enough to maintain his commanding lead and earn the $100,000 top prize.
The win didn’t come from a single standout day, but rather a steady climb up the leaderboard. Foutz opened the tournament in seventh place with 18-1, then surged to second on Day 2 after weighing 18-15. His biggest push came on Semifinal Saturday, when he hauled in 20-10 to take control of the tournament with a 6-pound, 9-ounce advantage.
Despite tougher conditions on the final day, Foutz stayed composed and did what he needed to do to close it out.
Austin Felix finished second, but could not overcome Foutz’s sizable lead, as the margin of victory held at 6 pounds, 13 ounces.
The Arkansas River fishery in Muskogee once again proved to be a challenging but rewarding stage, testing anglers’ consistency across four days. For Foutz, it was the kind of performance every angler chases — steady, confident, and ultimately championshipworthy.
