The Eufaula Ironheads (29) matched Seminole hit-forhit and played error-free baseball, but a five-run first inning proved too much to overcome in a 10-2 loss Tuesday.
Eufaula struck first when Koltyn Lane delivered an RBI single in the opening frame, but Seminole answered immediately with five runs on four hits to seize control early.
The Ironheads showed life again in the third inning when Jax Williams battled through a seven-pitch at-bat and blasted an inside-thepark home run, driving in two runs and trimming the deficit. Williams led Eufaula offensively, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Eufaula finished with 10 hits, with Williams, Lane and Chase Bumgarner each collecting two hits to pace a balanced attack. The Ironheads also played clean defensively, committing no errors, with Fischer McAllister leading the way with four chances in the field.
On the mound, Williams took the loss after allowing five runs in the first inning. Beau Tarron provided steady relief, working 3 2/3 innings with four strikeouts.
Despite matching Seminole with 10 hits, Eufaula couldn’t capitalize in key moments, while Seminole used patience at the plate — drawing eight walks — to extend innings and build its lead.
