National Crappie League to Eufaula Lake

The National Crappie League (NCL) heads to Eufaula Lake in Eufaula, for a Wild Card Tournament on June 27-28.

Competitors will fish for cash, prizes, and an opportunity to qualify for the NCL National Championship.

Paybacks will be 100% or more guaranteed. This is a two-day tournament with NCL contributing $25.00 per boat. Big Fish will be split 70/30.

You are eligible to enter an Amateur Division Tournament if you have NOT earned $5,000 per individual or $10,000 per team in the previous two years with any major recognized trails (such as Crappie Masters, Crappie USA, Midwest Crappie Alliance, Crappie Elite, or Crappie Expo).

You may NOT enter an Amateur Division event if you are a fishing guide. A fishing guide is anyone who has derived income from taking people fishing on a parttime or full-time basis in the last two years.

This will be a one-day tournament for Amateur Anglers, happening on June 28.

Semi-Pro Division Tournaments are open to all anglers/teams, regardless of previous earnings/placement. This will be a two-day tournament for Semi-Pro Anglers happening June 27 and 28, 2025.

Area Conditions:

Eufaula Lake water temperatures typically settle into the upper 70s to low 80s, and summer patterns are well underway.

Crappie have moved out of their spawning areas and can often be found holding in deeper brush piles, submerged timber, and along creek channels.

With stable weather and warmer water, fish tend to be more predictable, though sudden storms can still stir up muddy conditions in some coves.

Anglers targeting post-spawn crappie often rely on vertical jigging or slow trolling with jigs and minnows, focusing on structure in 12 to 20 feet of water where crappie school up and feed during the heat of summer.

Registration and Tournament Meeting: Semi-Pro Division: A meeting will be held on June 26, at 203 Adams Street, Eufaula. Registration is 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. The meeting is at 6 p.m.

Amateur Division: A meeting will be held June 27, in front of Xtreme RV 420 Lakeshore Drive, Eufaula. Registration 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
