Oklahoma City – Oklahoma Museums Association is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation Fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

This grant is one of 25 awarded, totaling $427, 845 to support local organizations working to enhance quality of life in rural Oklahoma.

Funded projects focus on Arts, Culture and History, Economic Development, Health and Safety, and Libraries and Literacy.

The grant will support much needed museum training and scholarships to the Oklahoma Museums Conference focusing on museum best practices. This funding will help rural museums better serve their communities.

The Oklahoma Museums Association is dedicated to strengthening Oklahoma museums. Through training, networking, advocacy and more, the organization serves Oklahoma’s 500+ museums in an effort to help them better serve their communities. The Oklahoma Museums Association has received special recognition at the Governor’s Arts Awards and at the Journal Record Beacon Awards as a top non-profit.
