We are pleased to receive the following excellent report of Josephus Robinson for February, one of the Creek boys now at school at Tuskegee, Ala. Perfect in studies is 100, very good is marked 90. It will be seen that he is perfect in English grammar – 100; Mental Arithmetic – 100; nearly so in Latin Grammar – 99; Latin Reader 97; Algebra – 99.5; Written Arithmetic – 97; spelling – 97; Penmanship – 96; composition – 95; declamation – 91, perfect in punctuality and deportment – 100, nearly so in application – 98.5.

Innocent
Know all persons to whom this may appear that I, March Thompson, prosecuting attorney for Eufaula district, Creek Nation, do this day make public that I have carefully examined the testimony in the case of W.F. Crabtree and J.H. Crabtee for the killing of Thomas Grayson, December 14, 1877; and Jimmie Willison for the killing of Edmond Grayson on the 9th day of January, 1878 and find no testimony of a convicting nature whatever.
Therefore, all process or indictments against said W.F. and J.H. Crabtree and Jimmie Willison for the foregoing cases are withdrawn finally from the date hereof.

••••• 100 YEARS AGO Thursday, April 2, 1925 CAN BUILD COURTHOUSE IN EUFAULA UNDER NEW LAW
A new law providing for the counties building courthouses on an extra one mill levy, was passed in the closing hours of the legislature, is the word brought back from the state capitol to Eufaula.
JERRY FINK, MANAGING EDITOR CHECOTAH ORPHANAGE IS FIRED BY LIGHTNING
The fact that the children in the I.O.O.F. orphanage here were at school prevented possible fatalities this morning from a lightning stroke which razed the tower of the main building, which is used to house the little ones.
The children had left only a few minutes before the thunderstorm rolled up. It is estimated that $1,000 damage was done by the bolt, which set fire to the building. The fire department had the blaze soon extinguished.

Eufaula Soldier Now In England
Pvt. William Carl Haskett of Eufaula, who was wounded January 19 I the left hand and right thigh is now in an English hospital. Mrs. Blanche Haskett, his mother, was notified this week.
William Carl is preparing for his fourth operation, the letter stated. It also said William Carl’s Purple Heart decoration was being forwarded to Eufaula.
Coy Pledger Now German Prisoner
Through enemy broadcasts, a message from T.Sgt. Coy Pledger of Eufaula to his wife Mrs. Edith Pledger of this city revealed that the local lad who was “missing in action: is now a German prisoner-of-war.
Pledger revealed that he was well and would be allowed to write three letters and four cards each month.
Storm Damages Eufaula Buildings
The sleet and snowstorm which hit Eufaula this week caused minor damages to several Eufaula business houses. At the M. and P. store the snow caved in their steel awning and the Farmers Exchange suffered from the same fate as their storage house and front awning gave way to this hazard

The questions of whether the United States should enter the super-bomb making race was settled Tuesday by President Truman.
This country is already working on the so-called hydrogen or hell-bomb, a thousand times more powerful than the uranium or plutonium bombs, th president revealed.
Bids To Be Asked On 69 Hwy. & M-K-T Changes The Tulsa District Army Engineers plan to invite bids January 4 and 5 1960 on relocation of U.S. Highway 69 and M-K-T railroad across the Eufaula reservoir now under construction on the Canadian River, approximately 12 miles east of Eufaula and 31 miles south of Muskogee.
Burglars Enter Baptist Church Sunday Night Burglars, evidently in need of Christmas money, broke into the south entrance of the Educational Building of the First Baptist church Sunday night or early Monday morning.
Entering the double doors, the prowlers, badly damaged one of the doors and left the front office in complete disarray.
Lee Funburg, custodian, found the church had been entered and apparently robbed, when he reported Monday morning to clean the church, following the Sunday services.

Col. John Castle Returns to Pleiku, Vietnam Col. John R. Castle has returned to military duty in Pleiku, Vietnam after being home for the funeral of his father, John B. Castle. Mrs. John R. Castle returned to Arlington, Va., after having spent several days here with her husband and Mrs. Castle.

City Council Passes Use Tax, Hear Report On McDonalds The Eufaula City Council passed a “use tax” Monday night – but only for a six-month trial period – and were told that McDonalds has taken a lease on land located on the west side of South Main Street.
Mega Stars Amphitheater Construction Bid Accepted A $982,285 bid has been awarded to begin construction on the first phase of Mega Stars Productions, Inc. Amphitheater in Eufaula Cove.
When completed the 40,000 seat project will be the largest outdoor theater in the United States.

Body of second drowned man recovered The second of two men who drowned when their canoe overturned in Lake Eufaula last weekend was found Friday, April 24, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Rescue crews have recovered the bodies of 23-year-old James Giles and Sean McDonald, 41.
Giles and McDonald wee canoeing Saturday night when family members believed the men’s canoe overturned off of the shore.
