Chamber honors local businesses, leaders at annual banquet

The Eufaula Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated a night of food, fellowship and recognition on Thursday, April 16, during its annual banquet at Dobber’s, bringing together community members, business leaders and the chamber board for an evening highlighting local success.

The chamber board, including President Jay Hunn, Executive Director Tim Turner and board members Kathy Foresee Turner, Zach Mc-Quay, Torie Anderson, Roxanne Loyd, Peter Lee and Jeanette Smith, helped plan and organize the event, which recognized this year’s honorees.

Guests enjoyed a meal and time of fellowship before transitioning into the presentation portion of the evening, where a video tribute showcased this year’s award winners and their contributions to the community. The program flowed alongside a silent auction, with attendees bidding on a variety of items in support of chamber efforts.

Among the evening’s honorees, Lost Treasure’s Antiques & Gifts was recognized as New Member, while Bobbie Lou’s Home Décor & Gifts received the New Business award. Burkie Belle’s was named Small Business of the Year, and Nichols Market earned recognition as Large Business of the Year.

Heritage Home Care Inc. was honored as Health Care Provider of the Year, and Erin Bridges was named Young Professional of the Year.

The Muscogee Creek Nation Hotel & Casino received the Ground Breaker Award, while Paula Freeman was recognized with the Stewardship Award. The City of Eufaula received the Histori-cal Award, and Zach and Angela McQuay of The Rock were also recognized for their contributions to the community. All recipi-ents were just a symbol of the determination and hard work by local businesses throughout the year.

New this year, the Chamber began a scholarship program with $250 scholarships distributed to Gracie Burke, Barrett Anderson, Jax Hickman and Peter Lee Jr.

The evening reflected more than recognition; it showcased a community investing in itself, where local businesses, leaders and neighbors continue to show up, support one another and help move Eufaula forward.
