What is spiritual fruit?

What are we producing for the Lord? Jesus told us that Believers demonstrate their relationship to God by the fruit that they produce.

No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers.

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. – Luke 6:43-45 It is very easy to be angry at the condition of our society and it is very tempting to fix blame. Jesus did not establish his Church to fix the world but to share the message of Jesus so that people could be saved. I think sometimes even Believers get distracted from our great commission. Your heart will reveal the fruit that you bear – make sure it is good fruit! What does good fruit look like? Paul tells us in Galatians.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other.”- Galatians 5:22-26 We will be judged by what we produce. Are you producing spiritual fruit that leads people to Jesus or are you sowing the seeds of anger, fear, or hate that destroy?

We would love to meet you and have you as a part of our fellowship at First Baptist Church. We are located at 400 West Foley in Eufaula and online at www.eufaulafbc.org.

On Sundays we have small group Bible Studies at 8:45 a.m. and we worship at 10 a.m. FBC Wednesday Nights are at 6 p.m. with a meal at 5:30 p.m.

Know that you are loved! Pastor J. Firest Baptist Church of Eufaula
