The Muskogee Board of Education unanimously approved Lenny Bert as the new high school boys basketball coach. Bert takes over the job after Lou Dawkins was hired by McAlester. Bert comes to Muskogee High School from OKC Douglass High School where he was an assistant coach, helping the Trojans advance to the Class 4A state championship game.

He was head coach at Putnam City West from 2010 to 2024, guiding the Patriots to the 2016 Class 6A state championship.

Bert will remain at Douglass High School until the end of this school year to fulfill his obligations.
