Why is the resurrection of Jesus important?

The central belief of the Christian faith is the resurrection of Christ. It is a testimony of God’s infinite power. If God is real (and I know that He is) and He is the creator of all things, He has power over death. If He does not, he is not worthy of our worship. Because of God’s wonderous power we understand what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:55, “y“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”

The resurrection proclaims that Christ is Lord. He cannot be buried away and forgotten because He is alive and at work in our world today! Jesus alone is the Savior who transcends death and who promises that His followers will do the same. As Christians, we take comfort in the fact that our God became man, died for our sins, and was resurrected the third day. The grave could not hold Him. He lives, and He sits today at the right hand of God the Father in heaven.

Jesus demonstrates God’s great love for us – he become one of us, to die for us, and rose again to save us, to bring us in and make us part of God’s great family. You are invited to receive that love and be saved.

We will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday, April 20th at 10:00 a.m. It is going to be an amazing day and we hope you and your whole family to join us.

He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! First Baptist Church is located at the corner of 4th and Foley. Morning Bible Study begins at 8:45 a.m., with our Morning Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. I would also invite you to visit our website at www.eufaulafbc.org.

Know that you are loved! Pastor J. Ingram First Baptist Church of Eufaula
