The Close to Home Fishing Program includes 46 ponds and small lakes open to the public statewide, offering quality fishing opportunities to anglers of all skill levels. Agreements with multiple municipalities around Oklahoma make all of this possible. Each pond is intensely managed and receives extra attention when it comes to fish stocking, harvest, special events, angler access, and water quality.
The best way to fish these locations will vary by where they are in the state. The most guaranteed method of success at each of these locations is going to be a bobber, split-shot, hook, and worm.
Be sure to check out our outdoor calendar. This summer ODWC will be hosting many fishing clinics for people of all ages. These clinics will be held every Monday afternoon beginning in May. The calendar will provide you will all of the information to register and attend.
