Library News
By AMANDA GRANTHAM BRANCH MANAGER

Did you know you can have a free book sent to your toddler every month? With Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, you can! If you are interested see one of our friendly staff members to get signed up. You can also visit imaginationlibrary. com for more information. We have Storytime every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Storytime is for ages 0-5. They will have a book read to them and do a craft or activity. This provides children with social interaction with others and prepares them for school. Join us for the fun!

We have a variety of exercise classes to help keep you active and healthy.

• Every Monday at 11 a.m., we have Tai Chi.

• Every Tuesday at 9 a.m., Tulsa Adams teaches Beginner Yoga. Mats, blocks, and bands are provided.

• Every Monday at 12 p.m. and Thursday at 9 a.m., we have chair exercise classes.

• Every Wednesday and Friday at 9:30 a.m., we have SAIL.

SAIL is a fitness program for older adults that can be done sitting or standing. Performing exercises that improve strength, balance, and fitness is critical for staying active and reducing the risk of falls. The SAIL program was designed with these principles in mind. Each class includes a warmup, stretching, cardio, balance, strengthening exercises, and a cooldown period.

We are doing an egg drop this month! We will have two separate times for primary age children and teens. They will enjoy creating a way not to break their egg when it is dropped from a ladder. This is a free program, and all the materials will be provided.

• Primary age – (6-11) Thursday, April 10 at 3:30 p.m.

• Teens- (12-18) Friday, April 18 at 3:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 17 at 2 p.m. book club for adults meets to discuss the book Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. You can pick up a copy at the front desk. It is also available on the Hoopla app. Don’t have a chance to read the book? You are still invited to come for a good discussion, a light snack, and get a copy of the next book.

The Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library (FEML) are looking for new members to join and continue to help build the library. The next meeting is Friday, April 18, at 1 p.m. Local author Courtney Clark will share about her book My Journey to Widowhood: From Grief to Grace. Contact President Gail Rose at member.FEML@gmail. com to join.

Please visit and follow us on Facebook or visit our website at eols.org/ eufaula for other events and activities.

Amanda Grantham is the branch manager of Eufaula Memorial Library, a branch of the Eastern Oklahoma Library System.
