FLEAS March Meeting
news

FLEAS March Meeting

The theme of our March meeting was spring. Our hostesses Sharon Joplin, Gloria Stubbs, Becky Harris and Debi Lloyd did a great job of decorations with garlands of flowers, candy and even glass bunnies as a gift for each. Nice job ladies.

After 10 years of no drama offered in Eufaula public schools, Selina Jayne-Dornan came to the rescue and is teaching classes in middle and high school.

Selina has a long history in acting and drama and is bringing her expertise and experience to eager young actors. We were blessed with a performance of a one-act play, War Letters. The story depicts three women left behind as a young man is sent on a peace keeping mission overseas.

Hannah Kennedy – mother; Niley Angell-wife; and Fenix Kilgore – daughter, reveal their feelings by reading letters aloud.

Also important were Fallon Pryor – light and sound; Sarah Snider – stage manager and prop coordinator; and Jimmie Dornan – everything else.

The play was extremely moving and earned a standing ovation.

You have a chance to support these young artists and see this play and two others on May 9, at 7 p.m., Eufaula High School auditorium.

Next month our program will be a presentation from the Crystal Cactus. We will get a glimpse of some alternative arts of healing.

We have several activities planned that include movies, ceramics and a trip to Blake Shelton’s Restaurant.

If you would like to visit, call Kay Rogers 405202-9874.
