By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

The Vian Wolverines defeated the Eufaula Ironheads 9-1 on Thursday thanks in part to six runs in the fourth inning.

Michael Polecat singled, scoring one run, Riley Ellis doubled, scoring two runs, Drake Collins singled, scoring one run, Jeremiah Marshall singled, scoring one run, and Michael Polecat drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Ironheads (4-7) struggled at the plate while Vian took full advantage of Eufaula’s faults.

JP Hicks started the game on the mound for the Ironheads. The hurler went three innings, surrendering six runs on five hits, striking out two and walking seven. Baylor Bohannon relieved Hicks.

Senior Carson Luna went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Hayden Robinson led Eufaula with two hits in three at bats.
