Eufaula defensive coordinator Wade Couch hired as new Madill’s head football coach

Madill has hired Wade Couch, formerly the defensive coordinator at Eufaula, as their new head football coach. Couch is taking over for John Heavner, who stepped down after one season at Madill. Couch has held previous head coaching jobs at Afton and Sallisaw Central.

Couch coached the 2024 season at Eufaula when the Ironheads went 2-9 and missed the post season for the first time in over a decade. Couch is a Northeastern State University graduate and has 26 years coaching experience.

Couch will be the third head football coach at Madill in the last three years.
