Eufaula Ironheads punch ticket to state powerlifting meet

The Eufaula Ironheads powerlifting team had another great season under head coach Larry Newton. Eufaula had five athletes punch their ticket to state, which will be at El Reno this Friday.

“I’m super proud of our powerlifters today. We went to regionals and placed runnerup in 3A. We had five guys qualify for state next Friday at El Reno. Duke Dunn 2nd place at 145 lb., Zayvion Price 4th place at 145 lb., Jax Hickman 5th place at 157 lb., Luke Hodgins 4th place at 220 lb., and Simeon Hill 1st place in the heavyweight division.

Every kid we took today broke a PR and some in every lift they performed today. Way to go Ironheads! Some of the guys had left before finding out we took runner-up,” Eufaula head coach Larry Newton said.
