Edgar Hiatt George

Edgar Hiatt George, 87, an Atoka, resident, was born on Thursday, Aug. 5, 1937, to Monroe Jerome and Nadine Elizabeth (Yarbrough) George, at Muskogee.

Ed passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at his home in Atoka.

He attended Stidham Grade School and graduated from Eufaula High School with the Class of 1955.

Ed was a lifelong 3rd generation Rancher.

He married Deborah Kay (Phillips) on Tuesday, June 3, 1986 at Atoka, Oklahoma. They have enjoyed 38 years of marriage together before his passing.

Ed was a member of the Victory Life Church of Atoka, First Baptist Church of Eufaula, and a Mason of the 32nd Degree at the Lodge in Eufaula.

Aug. 5, 1937 – Feb. 24, 2025

He enjoyed reading his westerns and loved traveling with his wife Debbie. In his earlier years Ed was a proud member of the PRCA as a bulldogger.

Edgar is survived by his wife, Deborah Kay George of the home; daughters, Beth George Williams of Oxnard, CA, and Sharla George Beebe of Eufaula; stepsons, Steve George of Atoka, Sean Bond of Owasso, Clint Bond and wife Marci of Atoka.

Also, grandchildren, Jason Sachs of Timber Cove, CA, Dakota Beebe of Eufaula, Ethan Beebe of Checotah, Emma Bond of Haskell, Ellie Bond of Owasso, Ethan Bond of Owasso, Sidney Loftin of Atoka, Sunny Moore of Tyler; great grandchildren, Raci Summerlin of Eufaula, Clara Beebe of Eufaula, Ever Hiatt Beebe of Checotah, Forrest Beebe of Checotah, and Bee James Loftin of Atoka. And a great granddaughter on the way Also, Dan George of Sallisaw and sister Susan George of Ardmore, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Nadine Elizabeth (Yarbrough) George and his first wife, Sylvie Blea George.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday,, March 1.2025, at Brown’s Funeral Chapel, Atoka, Oklahoma.

Adam Canler will officiate.

Honorary casket bearers include Connie Boone, Ron Marcus, Kennith Beasley, Cary Crutcher, Vernon Roland, Vernon Mc-Cormick, Jimmy Smith, Don Huddleston.
