Ironheads clip Morris Eagles wings 75-55
By rodney haltom sports editor The Eufaula Iron- over

heads cruised to an eaSy 75.55 victory tjie Morris Ea-gles Tuesday at the Perry Anderson Gymnasium in Eufaula. Morris came out the first period with a lot of energy as they took a 17-14 lead into the second period. However, Eufaula head coach Rob McKinzie made key adjustments and Eufaula outscored Morris 23-13. The Eagles struggled against Eufaulas deep bench, which played a huge part in the victory.

The Ironheads had six different players score in the second period with Maddox Bridges leading the charge with 9 of his 28 game points.

Eufaulas defense was ferocious as Ty Sparks, Keaton Parish, Jentry James and Bridges swarmed Morris, forcing turnover after turnover.

Eufaulas two big men, Dacen Hunter and Logan Plant, proved to be vital in the play in the paint as Robert Woods and Xavier Harjo struggled getting to the basket.

With 2:07 remaining in the second period Jace Davis of Eufaula extended the Ironheads’ lead 35-25. But Harjo hit a long three-pointer to cut the lead 35-28. But Hunter scored a contested shot followed by another score from Harjo to make the score 37-30 at the halftime break.

Eufaula’s rotation in the third period was too much for the Eagles as Keaton Parish dominated his defenders and scored along with Bridges. Rebounds were pivotal for Morris who just failed to out rebound the Ironheads on either of the court.

Eufaula led 58-42 to start the final period and Dusty Eby kept the flames glowing for the Ironheads as hit a three-pointer, 61-42. Morris watched as Plant grabbed the next two rebounds and watched Bridges make a steal and score to extend the lead 63-42.

At the 3:20 mark Sparks hit a jumper to make it 68-48 and the Ironheads’ onslaught continued until McKinzie pulled his starters with a 75-53 lead with 1:23 remaining in the game.

Bridges led all scorers with 28 points, Parish 16 points, Hunter eight points, Sparks six and Eby each finished with six points.

Harjo led Morris with 25 points and Robert Woods finished with 19 points.

Kellyville topped Eufaula 50-46 on Friday.

Jentry James and Dusty Eby each had nine points.
