Eufaula Arts celebrates Season with Festive Events

The Eufaula Area Arts Council invites you to experience the magic of the holidays with two unforgettable events: a festive Christmas Gathering on Tuesday, Dec. 17, and a mystical Winter Solstice Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Featuring the creative talents of the Eufaula Performing and Arts Club kids, these events promise to bring joy, community spirit, and artistic inspiration to all who attend.

A Cozy Christmas Gathering Kick off the holiday season on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. with the Christmas Gathering, hosted in the warm and welcoming Eufaula Chamber of Commerce building.

Retired history teacher Roger Thompson will present a fascinating talk on the origins and traditions of Christmas, offering insights that will deepen your appreciation for this festive time of year. Adding a touch of whimsy and wonder, the talented kids of the Eufaula Performing and Arts Club will perform a delightful pantomime sure to capture hearts of all ages.

Art enthusiasts won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to admire the works of Glenna McBride. After a twodecade hiatus, McBride is showcasing her personal creations, including small prints, landscape paintings, handmade paper pieces, dream scape drawings, collages, and handcrafted books.

This intimate evening of art, history, and performance is open to members and guests.

A Mystical Winter Solstice Celebration

As the longest night of the year approaches, gather with us on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. for the Winter Solstice Celebration at North Beach on Lake Eufaula (across from the baseball fields).

This enchanting evening under the stars will feature a bonfire, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities, creating a magical atmosphere by the lake.

This event is inspired by a similar celebration held a decade ago.

This year’s event promises to be just as memorable, with volunteers working to make it an extraordinary experience.

To get involved and you would like to contribute your time and talents, text 918-6171689. The Creative Heart of Eufaula The Eufaula Performing and Arts Club was established to inspire and engage local youth through theater and fine arts, offering playful and safe creative outlets in the wake of the pandemic. From their crowdpleasing April Fools’ zombie play to past holiday performances, these young artists have continually delighted the community.

This year, their contributions will once again add heartwarming touches. With the integration of Speech and Drama classes at Eufaula Public Schools, the future of these talented performers looks brighter than ever.

Mark your calendars and join us in celebrating the season’s magic, the creative spirit of our community, and the joy of togetherness. These are events you won’t want to miss!
