The 109th meeting was spectacular between the Checotah Wildcats and the Eufaula Ironheads. The Wildcats won the event 13-7. The game was wet, exciting and not for the faint at heart and it ended in heart pounding, bloodpressure-rising action in the last seconds. Neither team has anything to hang their heads about because they left everything on the field. This was one of the most exciting and physically punishing games between the teams. I know for Eufaula it was heartbreak after recovering not one but two Checotah fumbles in the end zone. However they gave it their all in gallant effort and as a football fan, I appreciate that.

Checotah retains bragging rights for another year and their season continues as they made the playoffs for a second consecutive year. I appreciate all the coaches on both teams and their athletes for giving us, the fans, another wonderful and memorable season.
