Library funds needed
By AMANDA GRANTHAM BRANCH MANAGER

I am writing to update you on the progress of the renovation of the Eufaula Memorial Library.

I am excited about the changes happening. All the mold has been removed and new drywall has been installed. Texture has been added and it looks as good as new! Every wall has been painted and it looks fresh and clean.

New windows have been installed in the children’s area giving a more modern look. All the flooring has been removed and we are awaiting the shipment of the new flooring this week. Lastly, the most exciting thing is new light fixtures have been installed in the main library area and the meeting room. They brighten up the spaces!

I want to thank the City of Eufaula for all their support. They have replaced the siding on the west side of the building, repaired leaks in the roof, replaced the leaking windows, and got the mold remediation company to remove the mold.

They also helped us move furniture to storage so construction could begin. I also want to thank the Friends of the Eufaula Memorial Library for their support. Their monetary donation to this project and help with fundraising is appreciated.

I would like your help in completing this project. There has been a lot of progress in the last few weeks, and I want to keep the momentum going.

To reopen the library we need more funds to replace the rest of the light fixtures and furnish the library. Any amount that will help us reach this goal is appreciated.

If you have any questions please contact me at (580) 380-1527 or agrantham@eols. org.

Although we are temporarily closed for renovations, we have programs and library services at the Eufaula Community Center. While we are at the Community Center you can check books in and out and use Chromebooks. You can also order items from other libraries.

Follow us on Facebook for any updates.

The Eufaula Memorial Library Book Club for Adults will meet on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. The book club will meet at the Eufaula Community Center, 121 High St.

The book for October is The Secret Book of Flora Lea by Patti Callahan Henry. You can pick up a copy at the Eufaula Community Center or download it from the Libby app.

You can check out ebooks, audiobooks, movies, and music through the Libby or Hoopla app. If you are not using them now would be a great time to try them out! Come to the Community Center and have one of our friendly staff members assist you.

Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library (FEML) is looking for new members to join and continue to help build the library. Their monthly luncheon meetings are canceled until further notice due to construction at the library. Contact President Gail Rose at member. FEML@gmail.com to join.

Please visit and follow us on Facebook or visit our website at eols.org/ eufaula for other events and activities. Amanda Grantham is the branch manager of Eufaula Memorial Library, a branch of the Eastern Oklahoma Library System.
