What might be one of the smelliest contests to date has left one man stinkin’ mad for losing and another man stinkin’ excited for winning a new Nissan Sentra in the 2024 Oklahoma State Fair’s Stinkin’ Sentra contest.

Chris Cowden, owner of DentSource LLC, which hosted the competition, bragged that he tried to make it as uncomfortable as possible for the contestants and they were at his mercy.

The contest went four and a half days of sitting in a warm vehicle with three complete strangers, but Brian Richmond of Checotah outlasted his competition.

Richmond went on social media showing his previous car with all its miles and all the needed repairs. He claimed that he won the contest due to sleep deprivation of the other final contestant he was competing against. The other contestant claimed it was because of the smell of a cup of feces that had been put inside the car even though rules stated nothing could be brought into the vehicle.

The contest started at 11 a.m. on a Thursday with four contestants, and by Friday night, Richmond was facing off against one other finalist. Then around 6 p.m. Sunday, Richmond was declared the winner.

Cowden stated they would take the car back to the shop to clean and detail it after almost 80 hours of heated competition. Then his team will give the car to Richmond, free of trash and hopefully the smell.
