LIBRARY NEWS
By AMANDA GRANTHAM BRANCH MANAGER

The Eufaula Memorial Library is still temporarily closed for renovations, but we have programs and library services at the Eufaula Community Center.

Hopefully we will be open again next month.

While we are at the Community Center you can check books in and out and use Chromebooks. You can also order items from other libraries.

Follow us on Facebook for any updates.

We have a great and easy way for you to donate to Eufaula Memorial Library. We have a platform called The Mighty Cause. It is a website for non-profits such as the library for supporters to make contributions to our campaign. Currently, we are seeking funds to finish out the renovations and to purchase a new outdoor book drop. Visit www.mightycause.com/ organization/Eastern-Oklahoma-Library-System-Eufaula to learn more or make a donation.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! During September, Jim Lucas Library in Checotah and Eufaula Memorial

Library will compete to win the Golden Book. Each new card application received will be worth one point. Both libraries can earn additional points by donating canned, nonperishable food items. The library with the most points will house the Golden Book for the year. You can donate canned food items if you already have a library card. We will take donations until September 30. All donations will go to local food missions.

Thursday, September 19 the Eufaula Book Club for adults will meet at 5:30 p.m. to discuss Jodi Picoult’s Mad Honey. Join the discussion and have a light snack. We will meet at the Eufaula Community Center, 121 High Street.

Friday, September 20 teens can do a Lego maze. They will use coding to get through the maze. This program is at 3:30 p.m. at the Eufaula Community Center, 121 High Street.

You can check out ebooks, audiobooks, movies, and music through the Libby or Hoopla app. If you are not using them now would be a great time to try them out! Come to the Community Center and have one of our friendly staff members assist you.

Friends of Eufaula Memorial Library (FEML) is looking for new members to join and continue to help build the library. Their next monthly program luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 20. Contact President Gail Rose at member. FEML@gmail.com to join.

Please visit and follow us on Facebook or visit our website at eols.org/ eufaula for other events and activities.

Amanda Grantham is the branch manager of Eufaula Memorial Library, a branch of the Eastern Oklahoma Library System.
