Expose and dispose

Expose and dispose

In a world full of malice and mishaps, where it seems all we hear about is strife and hatred, I think we should try tuning out the bad news and opening up His Word to read the “Good News.” I believe we have everything we need to expose and dispose of every plot of the enemy in our lives if we will only remove the veil from our eyes and remove our hearts of stone and ask God to put a heart of flesh back in us. In other words, we need to expose the evil of this world, dispose of our bitterness and bias and do everything within our ability to embody Christ’s compassion and understanding. I promise if we will only do our part then God can and will step in and do His part.

The problem is many of us don’t want to see our own faults and fix them or even admit them. We would rather point out the flaws of others and throw stones at the accused, all while acting as if we have never sinned and come short of His glory. However, I assure you, we ALL have sinned and it is but for the grace of God that many of us are even still here.

So be careful not to tell others or even deceive yourself that you have done anything by yourself or in your own ability. You have survived because God has kept you and it’s been because of His ability that you are where you are today. I know that’s true for me.

So why is it so hard for us to admit our shortcomings and expose the enemy rather than our neighbor? Why do we seek to throw stones when we can build with those stones instead? We have got to ask God to soften our stone-cold hearts to start caring about others again.

Never in all my years have I seen such division, deceitfulness and actions that are downright disheartening. I believe too many have lost their humanity, while the rest of us struggle to hold onto our faith in mankind. I often wonder how much more of America’s blatant sins will God stomach?

So it’s time to expose the only thing we can truly change and that’s our own hearts. We can ask God to forgive us for not only thinking about ourselves but also for all the ugliness that we have been a part of. We are supposed to be ministers of His Word and show His love not condemnation and discontentment.

His Word says in 2 Corinthians 3, “Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, letters of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? You are our letter written in our hearts, known and read by all men. For you are prominently declared to be the letter of Christ, prepared by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on human tablets of the heart. not that we are sufficient in ourselves to take credit for anything of ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us able ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

We need to start speaking encouraging words and lifting people up, and then we will be lifted up also. God said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

We are going to have to depend on God’s strength and expose the enemy who wants to kill, steal and destroy us all. If we will expose him and dispose of our ugly hearts of stone, God will reveal a different side of the story for us – a story of redemption. I pray we all push toward that and expose the schemes of the enemy because united we stand, but divided we will fall.
