Texanna Road traffic disruption Sept. 4

On Sept. 4 Texanna Road will be closed north of Ogden Corner to replace a 6-inch, 40-foot long, rusted out culvert, District 2 County Commissioner Monty Guthrie has announced.

The road at that location will be closed from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

“I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but we are going to lose the Texanna tin horn if it is not replaced soon,” Guthrie said.

He said there are ways to bypass the construction: when going east, travel east at Ogden Corner on E 1150 to S 4260 (Peach Orchard Road) back to Texanna. Going west, turn off Texanna at S 4260 (Peach Orchard Road) then on E 1160 back to Texanna.

There is an alternate route from New Texanna to Old Texanna: leave New Texanna at Flags Up Farm by turning on E 1140 (Hollar Road) to S 4230 to Texanna Road. Traveling back to New Texanna Rd, do the opposite.
