The Eufaula Indian Community would like to take this opportunity to thank those that made our Whole Hawg Day at the EIC Center a success with many attending the chair volleyball game, the arts & crafts and Indian taco sale.

Many visitors expressed their gratitude and sincere appreciation for the friendly and hospitable atmosphere during the event.

The first place volleyball trophy was donated by the Eufaula Indian Community; second place was sponsored by the Eufaula-Canadian Tribal Town Organization; and third place was sponsored by the Eufaula Creek Nation Casino; and Jon Tiger sponsored the Johnny Scott Memorial Trophy of Sportsmanship.

First place winters were Eufaula Blue; second place, Wilburton Choctaws; third place Wetumka and the Sportsmanship Trophy went to Wilburton Choctaw 2 Team.

Many thanks to Okemah, Cromwell and Holdenville for participating.

The EIC is the first Creek team and it originated here. This game has caught on by the Creek elders with approximately 20 teams now playing.

A good fellowship was had by all. The EIC Senior Group would like to thank everyone for coming and making our chair volleyball tournament a success. We had a great turnout, and everyone enjoyed themselves.

We’d also like to thank those who donated to our door prizes: The Patch, Eufaula Dorm, Eufaula Casino, Sonny’s, Eufaula Indian Clinic Diabetes Program, Loves Trave Stop, Terry’s Roofing, Jackie Jackson and Serina Kleveter with the Chamber of Commerce for her support and donations she collected for us.

I would also like to thank all our seniors for all the hard work and time they put into helping.

If I missed anyone, I’m sorry. A special thank you goes out to Bill Bevenue who prepared the pork meat. It was a delicious blend of his own rub. He is available for any events for smoking meat. High Class Goods, 918-490-3102 is available for any occasion.

A big thank you to the ladies of the EIC for making sure everyone was fed.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who made this possible and a success.
