Softball fans are anticipating a huge season in fast-pitch softball this year. The Eufaula Lady Ironheads made school history last season with an appearance in the State tournament. Eufaula lost five great starting seniors to graduation and head coach Ryan Green will have to go to his bench and involve the Eufaula underclassmen. Returning for Eufaula are Kate Pippenger, Jadence Efurd, Madison Ballard, Rayleigh Peterson, Kadie Tidwell, Hannah Beaver and Briley Gragg.
The Lady Ironheads will have a load of power hitters with Ballard, Pippenger and Tidwell at the plate.
The Checotah Lady Wildcats will have their star pitcher returning in Hailey Prince and a new head coach. Levi Walker will take over coaching duties after Kory Bible went to Muskogee. Prince is a fantastic power pitcher and hitter. Kora Hall, Sidney Hamilton, Shyanne Madewell will pose problems for infields and head coach Levi Walker will have a deep team with lots of depth. Layna Vandiver, Makyah Black, Kami Hamm, Kat Anderson and Aurora Madewell will add lots of talent to the team.
Eufaula will play Roland on Monday August 12 at Roland with a 5 p.m. start.
