Margaret Louise Dowling

Margaret Louise Dowling, 84, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the St. Francis Hospital of Muskogee surrounded by her family. Margaret was born on April 4, 1940, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lester Bo and Wynona (Mitchell) Silk Williams. She attended high school in Richmond, California. Margaret was raised in the Church of Christ.

Margaret worked as a cashier and waitress all her life. If you were ever in Eufaula, you probably saw her with a big smile working at JM’s Restaurant. She loved to drink her coffee, spend time with her family and fish.

Survivors include: her children: Tammy Isaac and husband David of Bixby, Bucky Phelan and wife Donna of Eufaula and Kelley Robertson of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, Jim Hoyst and Tammy Morris; sisters, Glenna Fisher and Freda Warren of Eufaula; seven grandchildren, Shanna Lockhart, Melissa Hyslop, Amber King, Joe Ray Pearson, Joshua Robertson, Buck Phelan and Jennifer Sloan; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester Williams and Wynona Silk and a brother Curtis Raymond Williams.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Eufaula Church of Christ with Minister Charlie Bailey officiating.

Pallbearers were Josh Robertson, Stetson Phelan, Gabe Hyslop, Asa Hyslop, Kyler King and Ian King. Honorary pallbearers were Buck Phelan, Jamie Hyslop, Chad King and Joe Ray Pearson.

Burial followed at the Lenna Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
