– The Indian Bureau is to provide rations for 1,500 hostile Indians, recently brought in by Spotted Tail. These Indians come in on the same terms as others of the hostiles.

– The Treasury of the United States, up to the 27th, has disbursed $30,344,000 in silver coin, of which amount $18,035,000 were in lieu of fractional currency, and $12,249,000 for currency obligations. There was a balance on hand of $3,500,000.

– The Chicago Tribunes Sioux City special says Springfield, Dakotah, advises say a council has been held by 500 Ponca Indians at their agencies near Springfield, and their purpose of resisting the government declared as abandoned, they having finally concluded to go to the new reservation in the Indian country peaceably.

Cheyenne, Wy., May 19 – Gen. Crook, with Maj. Randall and Lt. Schuyler, leave here in the morning for the agencies, where a final grand council will be held, which must be simply a formality, as the disarmament of Indians renders their consent to any proposition easily obtained. A small band of Cheyenne arrived at Red Cloud Wednesday, bringing some 200 horses. The Indians are convinced the government is acting in good faith, and are evincing a fidelity to the terms of surrender.
