On May 29, Bryon James Pollard, 53, and Charlene Hadie Wurster, 50, of Checotah, were charged with physically abusing Bryon’s 87-yearold father, James Pollard.

According to police investigators, the elder Pollard was beaten at his Checotah home with the leg of a table and in self-defense shot his son in the leg.

Bryon Pollard was charged with abuse by caretaker; malicious injury to property valued at more than $1,000 and possession of a credit card belonging to another.

Wurster was charged with domestic abuse – assault and battery, and malicious injury to property valued at more than $1,000.

However, according to court records at a hearing on June 18, the charges against Wurster were dropped at the re-quest of the alleged victim.

At a hearing on June 25 the charges against Bryon Pollard also were dropped at the request of the alleged victim.
