The Eufaula Ironheads made some key hires on the football staff. Eufaula native Ethan Sharp who coached at Eufaula last season then resigned to go to Byng is back at Eufaula. Sharp will coach quarterbacks and defensive backs.
Long-time coaching veteran Mike Idleman will also join the staff. Idleman coached at Langston University for nearly 12 years as defensive backs coach. He then coached at Lakeview Centennial schools in Texas for 10 years and has stints at Edmond and Quinton.
“I’m excited about the upcoming season. Anytime you can get someone like coach Idelman on staff it’s a good thing. We know what coach Sharp adds to our staff and team and returning to Eufaula is Wade Couch who will be defensive coordinator. We can’t wait to get started. We have a young but capable team and right now we’re concentrating on Summer Pride and getting stronger and in shape,” Eufaula head coach Larry Newton said.
