MONTY GRIDER – incumbent, McIntosh County Commissioner District 2

I am asking for support for re-election to McIntosh County Commissioner District 2 on June 18, 2024.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve the people of McIntosh County District 2 and other parts of the county in one capacity or another for the past three plus years. During my tenure I have developed relationships with other Commissioners, City, State and County Officials, residents and professional groups.

In order for County Government to be successful it is a must for the Officials to have a good cohesive working relationship. McIntosh County has an excellent group of elected Officials, staff, employees and it is a great work environment that I would like to continue to be a part of.

I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and United States Army Reserve where I was fortunate to have been able to utilize my VA benefits to complete a Bachelors and Masters Degree. Along with the Bachelors in Industrial Safety, Masters Degree in Technology Education, while I was employed with Lucent Technologies I completed a Masters of Business Administration degree from Oklahoma City University. These degrees, that I worked very hard for, do not prove how Intelligent that I am but, that I can stick with what I start and get it finished.

I am a Board member with several organizations outside of the county, including National Association of Counties (Military Service & Veterans committee), Workforce OK, Eastern Oklahoma Development District, Central Engineering District and County Advisory Board.

During my three plus years in office, you will find below a list of some of the accomplishment we have started and completed:

• Oversee the design and ongoing courthouse construction and remodel,

• Oversee the completion of 3.3 miles on S 4306 of total reconstruction, • Replacement and reconstruction of S 4140 bridge and gravel road over Possum Creek that was closed for 10 years,

• Overlayed more than 4 miles of existing hard surface roads in disrepair,

• Received $290K Lake access grant money to overlay S 4240, E 1170 and E 1162,

• Received $160K EODD REAP grant money used to repair a major collector tinhorn and overlay a portion of Texanna Road and Duchess Creek Acres,

• Applied for four additional Lake Access grants to be awarded in June of 2024,

• I will apply for an EODD REAP grant for approximately $90K to be awarded in 2025,

• Applied for $3.7M RAISE grant to be awarded sometime in the summer of 2024 by the Federal Department of Transportation, • I will continue to search and apply for federal, state and private grants, seek cost sharing from developers, neighborhood associations along with any other organization willing to chip-in.

There are numerous other day-to-day accomplishments and duty’s that District 2 are responsible for. Due to the mentioned accomplishment and my hard work and dedication I am seeking support for reelection and I would like to finish several things that we have started.
