KEVIN DRAKE – candidate for District 2 McIntosh County Commissioner
By Kevin Drake,

Kevin Drake is a District 2 McIntosh County Commissioner candidate with 28 years of military experience, 27 years of business knowledge, and a family-oriented mindset.

He is committed to serving the people of his district with competence and integrity. Kevin values the importance of communication, teamwork, and accessibility and is dedicated to promoting economic growth and ensuring the community’s needs are met.

His commitment to putting people first sets him apart as a leader who will make a difference in the community. His plans to ensure the community’s needs are met include supporting rural fire departments, conducting town hall meetings, and developing relationships with inter-governmental agencies, which he believes are essential for the well-being of our community.

Kevin Drake’s journey is a testament to his unwavering service and leadership.

For twenty-eight (28) years, he served in the United States Army and Oklahoma Army National Guard, holding supervisory roles at both state and federal levels.

His leadership prowess and experience were instrumental in successfully executing numerous combat missions during his deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) from 2004 to 2005.

In January 2021, he concluded his service in the Oklahoma Army National Guard with great honor, adorned with several awards and decorations, a true reflection of his capability and dedication.

Kevin Drake’s introduction to business began at a young age, working in retail sales since he was 15. His passion for working with the public and his aspiration to own his own company led him to partner with his parents in April 1996 to acquire Murry Carpets in Eufaula.

This experience in retail sales and business ownership has given him a deep understanding of fiscal responsibility, time management, and a strategic approach to long-term planning. These skills, which he plans to leverage for the economic growth of our community, are a testament to his practicality and commitment to our community’s prosperity.

Kevin Drake’s roots run deep in McIntosh County, Oklahoma, where he is a third-generation resident. He and his wife, BJ Drake, have made their home in Eufaula, raising their two sons, Gage and Noah, in this community.

Kevin is grateful to his parents, Ronnie and Sarah Drake, for providing him with a loving Christian upbringing.

His memberships with the VFW Post 8798, NRA, and Eufaula Area Chamber of Commerce clearly indicate his dedication to our community’s betterment. This commitment, instilled in him by his parents, is a testament to his deep connection and commitment to District 2 McIntosh County voters.
