Eufaula Area Arts pioneers Artistic Innovations

This year Eufaula Summer Arts 2024 will take place June 10-13 at Eufaula Elementary during Summer Beacon. The Teaching Artists this year are Monty Harper, Joann McMillan and Heather Burns. Private classes will start at 9 a.m. and are over at noon or 1 p.m. depending on the student’s grade level. Beacon students can participate but must ask to be in Eufaula Arts Council’s art classes. Free lunches and hardship scholarships are available. Applications can be found at the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce building. The Eufaula Area Arts Council is committed to crafting a brighter future for “all.” This council operates with no paid employees, ensuring that every resource is dedicated to fostering creativity and community well-being. To achieve this, active participation and support are important from this community. Whether you can contribute your time, skills, or resources, every bit counts toward programs.

Established as a qualified not-for-profit in 1998, this Council’s roots in nurturing artistic talent trace back several years earlier when area artists and passionate locals started art classes with the support of the City of Eufaula directors. Today Eufaula Area Arts still collaborates with likeminded organizations to strengthen the influence of the arts in this community.

In a groundbreaking move, the Eufaula Area Arts directors have introduced a new initiative by investing in a Senior Scholarship to attend college or a vocational school. Opportunities are available for the public to contribute to this scholarship fund by visiting Eufaula Area Arts Council online. The first $500 donated is matched.

For three decades this Council has been the driving force behind Eufaula Summer Arts, an annual event enriching the lives of young minds. This year Eufaula Summer Arts 2024 will take place June 1013 at Eufaula Elementary during Summer Beacon. The Teaching Artists this year are Monty Harper, Joann McMillan and Heather Burns. Private classes will start at 9 am and are over at noon or 1 depending on the student’s grade level. Beacon students can participate but must ask to be in Eufaula Arts Council’s art classes. Free lunches and hardship scholarships are available. Applications can be found at the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce building.

Further increasing Eufaula Area Art’s impact is the creation of the Eufaula Performing and Arts Club which encourages young students to involve themselves in theatrical endeavors. The club sponsors going to see Broadway shows and area high school performances. Students also learn fundamental acting and stage production skills. The club welcomes new members in grades 12 to 4. This club also offers summer job opportunities for participants. Meetings are typically held on the 3rd Monday of the month at 4 pm at the Eufaula Trinity Episcopal Church on High Street.

Whether you offer your time, skills, or resources, it all counts toward programs. Become a member or in your own way be a part of these achievements. More information can be found at http://eufaulaareaarts. org
