Lange leads Ironheads’ to victory

Eufaula senior Jaxon Lange drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Eufaula Ironheads past the Kiefer Trojans 12-7 on Saturday at the Dewar Tournament. Lange hit a homerun to left field in the sixth inning, scoring three runs, and walked in the fourth inning, scoring a run.

JP Hicks hit a double in the first inning to tie the game. The tide turned in the Ironheads’ favor when they scored six runs to take a 7-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Hayden Robinson got in the action when he sent a pitch deep for double scoring two runs.

Hicks was the winning pitcher for Eufaula. He gave up 10 hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one.

Carson Luna pitched two innings in relief allowing one hit. Lange went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs, Robinson 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs, Luna 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, Hicks 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs and Draven Gragg 1-for-2 with an RBI.

On Thursday, Eufaula topped Asher 9-5. The Ironheads got on the scoreboard when Carson Luna was walked and then again when they scored on a wild pitch. Preston Dalton hammered a pitch in the fourth inning for a home run scoring two runs. The Ironheads scored five runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning. Luke Hodgins singled, scoring a run, Jaxon Lange singled, scoring two runs, DRaven Gragg hit a sacrifice fly, scoring a run, and an error scored a run.

Hayden Robinson earned the win for the Ironheads. He allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two.

Tushka shutout the Ironheads on Friday 8-0.
