The ultimate intro songs
By Rodney Haltom Sports Editor 918-689-2191 ijsports@cookson.news,

The ultimate intro songs

After nearly two decades of covering all types of sporting events and listening to introduction songs as teams take the field, court or gridiron, I have come up with my personal best intro songs of all time. The ultimate songs are based on closing your eyes, imagining a team or boxer coming out to the court or field and the feeling that you and an audience would feel.

Intro songs are a vital part of setting the scene and motivating athletes and fans. From the NBA Chicago Bulls to the WCW Freebirds or Von Erics wrestling tag teams, music has played a huge part in sports. Today you will be educated on multiple songs that any school or university should use in their athletic programs.

1. Stranglehold by Ted Nugent

2. Unchained by Van Halen

3. Sirius by Alan Parsons Project

4. Tom Sawyer by Rush

5. Thunderstruck by AC/DC

6. Enter the Sandman by Metallica

7. Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne

8. The Final Countdown by Europe

9. Hells Bells by AC/DC

10. We’re an American Band by Grand Funk Railroad

11. For Those About to Rock by AC/DC

12. Superstition by Stevie Wonder

13. Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple

14. Jump by Van Halen

15. War Pigs by Black Sabbath

Any of the above is a quality song that is sure to get the blood flowing and the fans excited and motivated. So in your leisure time, take a listen to any of the above and see which one you prefer.

1-2-3 break.
