Allied Arts and Hobby Lobby join forces to sponsor Eufaula Summer Arts 2024

Allied Arts and Hobby Allied Arts in Oklahoma City and Hobby Lobby are partners for the Eufaula Summer Arts 2024 set to take place June 10 -13 at Eufaula Elementary during Beacon activities for 1st through 8th grades.

The collaboration between Allied Arts and Hobby Lobby is a testament to their shared commitment to fostering creativity and education in Oklahoma communities like Eufaula. This sponsorship aligns with the mission of the Allied Arts Educational Outreach program, which is dedicated to bringing Teaching Artists to areas like the Eufaula community.

Eufaula Summer Arts, is a longstanding initiative of the Eufaula Area Arts Council beginning in the early 1990s and continues to enrich the lives of Eufaula‘s youth by hosting Teaching Artists.

This year, this event will feature the talents Joann Mc- Millan, Monty Harper and Heather Burns – esteemed educational specialists with the Oklahoma Arts Council.

These Teaching Artists will engage students in storytelling by their performing puppets, creating youthful songs and dancing.

The onsite coordinators for this event are Jim and Selina Dornan who are both dedicated and passionate about nurturing student growth and artistic exploration.

The Eufaula Performing and Arts Club students will play a vital role as helpers alongside the Teaching Artists, providing them with the unique opportunity to have understudy training with the Teaching Artists.

This experience aims to enhance the club member’s communication skills, build confidence, foster better listening abilities, develop leadership qualities, promote social agility, encourage critical thinking, open doors to career advancement and most importantly, ensure a fun and engaging learning environment.

Students attending Beacon will also have the chance to participate in the Teaching Artist classes. Interested Beacon students are encouraged to request enrollment in these classes as it presents a valuable opportunity for personal and artistic growth.

Applications to attend Eufaula Summer Arts 2024 are at the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce lobby on North Main.

To support accessibility, Hardship Scholarships are available for students with regular enrollment priced at $50 for the week. Regular enrollment is for students not enrolled in Beacon but would be considered private students with the Teaching Artists.

For more information, interested parties can contact Eufaula Area Arts via text at 918-689-6080 and 918616-2096 or by sending an email to info@eufaulaareaarts. org. Eufaula Summer Arts 2024 promises to be a celebration of creativity, education and community spirit, thanks to the generous support of Allied Arts and Hobby Lobby. We invite everyone to join in making this event a memorable and enriching experience for the Eufaula Community.
