No. 14 Eufaula Lady Ironheads top Muldrow
By Rodney Haltom sports EDITOR,

The Class 3A No.14 Eufaula Lady Ironheads earned a tough win on Saturday night as they defeated the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs 35-28. The Lady Bulldogs led 18-12 at the halftime break. Eufaula (13-8) managed not to let the game get away from them with great defense as they trailed 2318 to start the fourth period. The long perimeter shots were not falling for Eufaula and they used driving plays in the paint and good offensive rebounding to outscore Muldrow 17-5 in the final period to win 35-28.

Allie Anderson led all scorers with 14, Jadence Efurd 12 points and Ariel Greenlee had six points in the win.

Week in Review

The Preston Lady Pirates defeated Eufaula 48-37. Preston led 24-16 at halftime. Kambry Williams was hot, making two of her three-three point shots and Kate Pippenger, Maddie Ballard and Jadence Efurd each battled hard on both ends of the court. Preston’s defense forced numerous turnovers late in the game and took advantage of making their free throws. Allie Anderson struggled against the Lady Pirates’ defense as the double and at times tripled teamed the senior guard. Eufaula was outscored 13-8 in the final period as Preston held on to the 48-37 victory.

Pippenger, Ballard and Efurd each scored five points, Anderson 11 and Williams had nine points in the loss.
