The Checotah Lady Wildcats (2-13) continued to battle to finish strong as they fell to the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs 48-45. Checotah used tight defense and moved the ball up court with ease at times but found themselves in foul trouble early. Checotah trailed 23-17 at the halftime break. They then began to slowly chip away at the lead with Aiyana Brewer, Ruby Folkner and Nyah Cloud each scoring in the third period and trailing only 33-27.

A huge point in the game came in the third period when Ruby Folkner sustained an ankle injury and had to leave the game. Shyanne Madewell scored nine points and Cloud added six points.

But the Lady Bulldogs played great defense down the stretch and took the Lady Wildcats out of their game. Folkner led Checotah with 13 points.

Bulldogs win in controversial fashion

The Muldrow Bulldogs escaped with a 50-48 overtime win over the Checotah Wildcats. It was a fantastic game until the final minutes. With 13.5 seconds on the clock, the time keeper never started the clock when the ball was inbounded. Checotah scores to take the lead. Again the clock fails to start when Muldrow drives up court. Then the Bulldogs lose the basketball and officials give the Bulldogs a timeout when Checotah had possession of the basketball. With 7.2 seconds on the clock, Muldrow drives and scores to send the game into overtime. It was all over in the extra period as three of Checotah starters foul out and Muldrow wins the game 50-48.

Hudson Pollard 12 points, Elijah Thomas ten, Tyler Orman 16 points and R.J. Womack finished with four points.
