A 39-year-old Hanna woman has been ordered to appear in court at 9 a.m., Feb. 7, on charges that she sexually assaulted an exotic dancer at the 69 Cattle Company, a strip club north of Eufaula on Old Highway 69.
The specific charge, according to court documents, is rape by instrumentation.
Kimberly Dawn Reed also is charged with attempted escape from felony arrest or detention and obstructing an officer.
Associate District Judge Brendon Bridges entered a not guilty plea on Reed’s behalf at an initial court appearance on Jan. 16 and set bond at $7,500. He ordered her to have no contact with the victim and to not return to the 69 Cattle Company.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by McIntosh County
Deputy Sheriff Christian Degraffenreid, the deputy responded to a call the night of Jan. 8 about an alleged sexual assault on a dancer that took place onstage at the club.
According to Degraffenreid, the victim stated that she was performing a dance routine when Reed suddenly “grabbed her leg with one hand and violated her with the other.”
The suspect had left the scene when Degraffenreid arrived, he said.
As he was taking statements an unidentified nearby resident called the club manager and said the suspect was in her home hiding in
a closet and she wanted her removed, according to the report.
Degraffenreid stated that he went to the house and eventually coaxed the suspect out of the closet.
After several attempts to handcuff her, he finally succeeded and placed her in his patrol car and started to take her to jail when she started kicking the dashboard, undid her seatbelt and attempted to escape through the window, the report stated.
“I stopped the unit and got her back in the unit then continued to transport her to the Mc-Intosh County jail,” the deputy said.
