Q and A with Pastor J.

I have asked this very same question. Why would God forgive? Why bother with us? Why would He even care? God offers forgiveness for several reasons.

1) God offers forgiveness because we need it. Romans 3:23 tells us that everyone has fallen short and needs forgiveness. You need it, even if you don’t think that you do.

2) God offers forgiveness because we need all the time. Luke 18:18-19 tells us that nobody is good except God. We can never approach a point where we don’t need forgiveness.

3) God offers forgiveness because He loves us. John 3:16 tells us that He loved everyone enough to come to this Earth to make a way for us. Jesus died so that we could have God’s forgiveness.

4) God cares about us, because He made us. God is passionate about His people. God, who never sleeps or slumbers, wants each of us to come back to Him.

Forgiveness is real and it needs to be shared. When we receive forgiveness, we need to be willing to share it. God imparts in each of us the desire to forgive and seek forgiveness. This allows us to be restored in our relationships with God and others.
