The Oklahoma Tax Commission recently released city sales tax collection figures that primarily represents local tax receipts from October business. The monies they reported this period represent sales from Oct. 16 to 31 and estimated sales from Nov. 1 to 15.

Statewide, the disbursement of $196,553,716 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected a decrease of $905,686 from the $197,459,402 distributed to the cities and towns in November last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and town was $38,996,930 according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

However, McIntosh County, especially Checotah and Eufaula, fared better than the rest of the state.

Chectoah’s tax collection through Oct. 31 was $422,938.36 on taxable sales of $10,573,459 – an increase of 3 percent over the previous year.

Eufaula’s tax collection through Oct. 31 was $223,368.78 on taxable sales of $6,381,965.14, an increase of 1 percent.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $32,375,587 sales tax disbursement and a $7,435,286 use tax disbursement.

McIntosh County’s tax collection through Oct. 31 was $422,473.37 on taxable sales of $21,123,668.50, an increase of 3 percent over the previous year.
