Sometimes it’s the little acts of kindness that make Christmas miracles happen and the Kucish family were the recipients of just that this year.

As Charlene Kucish and her family watched the Eufaula Christmas parade this year, her 5-year-old daughter, Emma, unfortunately lost her favorite stuffed animal, a kitty she had held onto for over three years.

“We had been watching the parade from the sidelines when Emma’s school float came by and we joined in,” Charlene said. “Little did we know that Emma must have dropped her favorite stuffed animal, Esmeralda, during the process of getting onto the float.”

“After the parade we walked up and down Main St., tracing our steps and trying to find her stuffed toy but with no luck.”

That’s when Charlene thought she might post the lost toy on social media to just see if anyone might have picked it up. She needed two Christmas miracles. First, she hoped some child had found it and picked it up. Secondly, she prayed somehow they would see her post about the lost toy and return it.

“I posted about it that night and several people shared the post but I just wasn’t sure we’d get it back. However, I was pleasantly surprised when a lady messaged me that someone had found it. Emma cried happy tears.

“We got Esmeralda back the next day. I never met the person that found it. It was actually a lady’s son that found it in the road. It was truly a miracle someone had found the stuffed toy and decided to take her home just in case it was lost.

“We were so thankful to get it back. Even though it might seem like something so small, it meant a lot to my little girl.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to share my post about a little missing stuffed toy. It’s these small acts of kindness that restore my faith and make us know that Christmas miracles are wrapped in kindness. We have such a wonderful community and I can’t say thank everyone enough!”
