The 8th Annual Mvskoke Spelling Bee will take place Saturday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. at the Eufaula Community Center, 121 W. High Street.

Three place monetary awards will be given – $300 for first place, $200 second and $100 third.

Most of the words on the list have been taken from the Green Dictionary published by Jack B. Martin and Margaret McKane Mauldin.

Each speller will be given a word to spell. He or she will draw from one of two lists. Elimination occurs when the speller misses three words.

The spelling bee is free to participate.

A meal will be served. Everyone is welcome to cheer on your favorite contestant.
