Who is Jesus?

Q and A with Pastor J.

I will attempt to answer this adequately in this short space. Jesus claimed to be God in human flesh. In John 10:30-33, Jesus said,” I and the Father are one.”

Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”

“We are not stoning you for any of these,” replied the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”

We can all come to our own opinion about Jesus. However, what really matters is what Jesus said about Himself. Jesus claimed to be God, not A god, but THE God. Jesus accepted Peter’s confession that He was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus accepted the worship of people who followed Him. This would all be a great blasphemy, unless it is true. I believe that God came to Earth in the form of a man called Jesus. That God saw our need and met that need Himself on the Cross. Our opinion does not change who Jesus was. He claimed to be God, and He backed up that claim with His life and miracles and His resurrection.

If Jesus is the God He claims to be, then what we believe about Him has eternal circumstance. I encourage you to seek Him out and to know Him personally. I believe that Jesus is everything the Bible tells us. I can see it through the evidence and I know it through faith. I hope you do, too.

We would love to meet you at First Baptist Church. If you are looking for a Church to call home I want to encourage you to visit and see what God is doing in our Church. We are genuine and relevant and we want to make a difference. We are looking forward to meeting you!
