Public library a great resource for students

As the schools open, Eufaula Memorial Library Branch Manager Shymekia Wilson-Adams reminds students that the library is a great resource.

“We want to share some of the great resources you can access for free with your library card— some that might even take away all the algebra headaches,” Adams said.

Brainfuse Help Now

Homework help is available from a live instructor for students kindergarten through college.

SkillSurfer

This is for all ages: college test prep, ASVAB test prep, ELL and Parent’s Corner, U.S. citizens test prep, GED test prep and resume writing.

Learning Express

Provides tutorials and ebooks to help students (K-12) improve basic skills in math, reading, writing and science. Also, there are practice tests to help prepare for taking the GED, SAT, ACT and more.

Printer On

You can print those last minute book reports and more at EOLS. Print directly from a library computer or use your smartphone, tablet, home computer or laptop to send a mobile print request.

Black and white prints are 15 cents a page; color prints are $1 per page – payment is by cash or credit/debit card ($5 or more). Copies must be picked up within 72 hours of sending.

Khan Academy

Created by experts, Khan Academy’s library of trusted, standardsaligned practice and lessons covers math K-12 through early college; grammar, science, history, AP, SAT and more. It’s all free for learners and teachers.

Infobase Learning Cloud

Provides on-demand computer training needed to develop technology skills. Learn to use Microsoft, Apple, Adobe and Google software like Prezi, PowerPoint and more.
