Indian community proud of festival winners

The Eufaula Indian Community shone brightly at the recent Mvskoke Creek Nation Festival in Okmulgee. Local competitors who participated in the event traveled to the festival on June 22, 23 and 24 and were in competition with all 24 communities and organizations and were well rewarded for their efforts and determination.

The following were winners:

Winners of Junior Olympics:

– Isaac Turner: Boys 6-7 years old, 30 meter dash – 18th overall – Adrian Martin: Boys 6-7 years old, 50 meter dash – 6th overall – Lucas Turner: Boys 6-7 years old, 50 meter dash – 17th overall – Tug of War competition: Boys 6-7 years old – 2nd place team Lucas and Isaac Turner, Adrian Martin and Sawyer Bryan – Lucas Turner: Boys 6-7 years old, jump robe – 1st overall – Erika Smith: Girls 8-9 years old, 30 meter dash – 19th overall – Zenas Dowling: Boys 8-9 years old, 100 meter dash – 11th overall – Aleigh Turner: Girls 10-11 years old, football throw – 3rd place – Samuel Turner: Boys 12-13 years old, 50 meter dash – 5th overall – Samuel Turner: Boys 12-13 years old, 1,600 meter run – 5th overall – Michael Smith: Boys 14-15 years old, football throw -1st place – Earnest Shade: Boys 14-15 years old, football throw – 2nd place – Cheyanne Smith: Girls 14-15 years old, football throw – 4th out of four

Muscogee Nation Festival 5K

– Samuel Mullin – 13th overall; male overall – 13th; overall male 16-18 age group – 5th place

Winner of Golf Tournament

– 1st place team: 55 and older – Bo Colbert, Star Drew, Richard Belcher and Cecil Harry

Winner of Parade

– 1st place: Eufaula Indian Community

Senior Games
