Eufaula’s Macayla Needham continues success at North Texas

Eufaula graduate and track and field star Macayla Needham continues her success at the Division 1 level. Needham has made several All-Conference teams and continues to shine in collegiate action.

• 2021 All-Conference USA First Team (shot put – indoor) Personal Records INDOOR TRACK SP – 47’ 6.5” (14.49m) WT – 51’ 4.5” (15.66m) OUTDOOR TRACK SP – 48-9.5 (14.87m) HT – 145-0 (44.19m) 2022 OUTDOOR

– Finished fifth at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships with a persoanl-best shot put of 489.5 (14.87m) (5/14/22) – Recorded a personal-best hammer throw of 145-0 (44.19m) to take 17th at the C-USA Outdoor Championships (5/12/22) – Placed fourth in the hammer throw at the TTU Corky Classic with a career-best mark of 139’ 9” (42.60m) (4/30/22) – Runner-up in the shot put at the North Texas Classic with a throw of 45’ 11.75” (14.01m) 2022 INDOOR

– Scored in the shot put at the Conference USA Indoor Championships with a throw of 45’ 7” (13.89m), good for seventh place. (2/20/22) – Recorded a career-best weight throw of 51’ 4.5” (15.66m) to place third at the JD Martin Invitational (1/22/22) – Placed third in the shot put at the Ted Nelson Invitational with a throw of 45’ 0.25” (13.72m) (1/15/22) 2021 OUTDOOR Did not compete.

2021 INDOOR

– Earned All-Conference USA First Team accolades with a third-place finish at the indoor conference championships, recording a personal-best shot put of 47’ 6.5” (14.49m) (2/21/21) Runner-up in the shot put at the H-Town SpeedCity Series with a mark of 46’ 3.5” (14.11m) (1/16/21) 2020 OUTDOOR

No competition due to COVID-19.

2020 INDOOR

– Placed fourth in the shot put with a then-personal-best mark of 47’ 1” (14.35m) at the C-USA Championships (2/22/20) – Won the shot put title at the Red Raider Invitational with a throw of 42’ 11.5” (13.09m) (1/24/20) HIGH SCHOOL (EUFAULA)

– State champion in the shot put with a throw of 42’ 11 1/2” (2019) – State runner-up in the shot put (2017, 2018) – Meet of Champions runner-up (2018) – Meet of Champions runner-up with a personal best throw of 43’ 2” (2019) – Holds school record in shot put with a throw of 43’ 2” – OCA All-State (2019)
