Eufaula VFW Post 8798 will host Karaoke by Timmy Ray on Friday night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Nazarene Church showing movie on the lawn

Weather permitting, the Eufaula First Church of the Nazarene will host a free outdoor event on Sunday, June 11, that will include a movie on the lawn, games, food and drinks.

The games begin at 6 p.m. at the church, 409 High Street, and the movie starts at dusk.

Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. We will provide food and drinks. If you have questions call 539-228-0032 or 918618-2040.

Texanna Ladies Crafters

The Texanna Ladies Crafters shop is located right across from Dawn’s Café on Texanna Road. Open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Look for the Butterfly board and the little green alien in front of our store. Stop by and take a picture with your family. It’s free.

Family History Workshop

A Family History Workshop and Ancestry Help will be held Monday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Eufaula Memorial Library.

Muscogee Nation Head Start accepting applications

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Head Start is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year.

There is no cost to families. The following documents are required: parent’s income verification; previous year’s income tax (front sheet only), pay stubs, W-2 form, TNF letter, SSI letter, SNAP documentation or statement from employer; child’s immunization record, medical card, citizenship card (if applicable) and birth certificate.

DAV McIntosh County Chapter #3 meets monthly

The DAV McIntosh County Chapter #3 meets the first Thursday of each month. 111092 S. 4184 Rd., Checotah (1/2 mile west of Onapa Rd.). Meetings are in the evening but daytime meetings are being considered if enough are interested. The DAV would like to invite anyone who is at least 10 percent disabled to come to their meetings and have their voice heard. Come be a part of the Disabled American Veterans organization. Respite Vouchers available for seniors raising children

Are you caring for a relative child under the age of 18? Do you need a break? The Caregiver Program might be just what you’re looking for. Respite Vouchers are a total $300 for a 3-month period. The Senior Raising Children can hire someone of their choosing to give them a much-needed break. Respite voucher for caregivers

Are you caring for someone 60 years of age or older that needs assistance with dressing, walking, transferring, bathing, eating, or toileting? Do you assist someone with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or Parkinson’s Disease? The Caregiver Program might be just what you’re looking for. The Respite Vouchers are a total of $300 for a 3-month period. Friendship Kitchen offers sit-down lunches Friendship Kitchen is excited to share with Eufaula and surrounding communities that the Saturday Free Lunch program, which had changed to only drive-thru during the COVID-19 pandemic, has reopened for sit-down meals.

Everyone is invited to come to the Kitchen at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 251 Matthews Lane, Eufaula, sit down and enjoy a lunch and socialize Meals are served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take-out meals are available after 12:30 p.m. Friendship Kitchen Volunteer Team, United Methodist Church, First Assembly of God Church, Community Culture Church, Wayland Baptist Church and St. Paul’s Catholic Church are looking forward to seeing you.

Monday – Tai Chi at Eufaula Library, Free: Beginners from 11 a.m. to noon; Advanced, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday – Chair Exercise class, FREE: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Eufaula First Baptist Church 400 W. Foley.

Wednesday – Chair Exercise class, FREE: Checotah Library, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Thursday – Chair Exercise class, FREE: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Eufaula Library Also American Heart Association BLS, CPR and First Aid classes available for $45 per person.

If anyone is interested in having a Tai Chi or Chair Exercise class at their site please contact Dawn Edwards 918-689-7774. You may also contact Dawn for the American Heart Association BLS, CPR and First Aid certification.
