No matter how you slice it has been a great year for most of the high school sports programs in McIntosh County. Both Eufaula softball teams went to regional action. Both Checotah and Eufaula had golfers qualify for the state tournament, Checotah had another state champion wrestler, the Ironheads football team and baseball team went into post season play and Checotah had a state champion long jumper and Eufaula had two cross country athletes make the state tournament for their fourth consecutive time.

All in all it’s been an exciting year for the fans and the athletes and we look forward to seeing what the new coaches at both, Eufaula and Checotah, will bring to the table next school year. That in itself is exciting to me. Thank you to all the athletes and coaches that worked with me to bring coverage to your programs and may God continue to bless you and our communities.
