Longtime Eufaula assistant coach Robert Nixon retires

Longtime Eufaula assistant coach Robert Nixon hung up his coach’s whistle to retire after 32 years. Nixon, a Eufaula graduate, was hired in 1985. He has since been a vital part of the Eufaula golf program, where he was a part of the only State Championship team in Eufaula’s long history. The golf program excelled under head coach Bill Bumgarner and Nixon. Not only did they win a state championship, but also they were the state runner-up two times and have produced numerous collegiate golfers.
